The story thus far:
---------------
Sophia used to be a rising young executive in a Californian software company called Bay Cryptographic Systems. She has an MBA and a partial degree in computer science. In her college days, she spent time on the athletics team where she did well in spite of her diminutive size. She used to be a vegetarian. She was embraced a few months ago by Alexandra Cunningham, an Invictus Ventrue who valued her ability to rise in a male dominated world on her own terms. [I wanted someone who was embraced very recently. That will help cover any stupid mistakes I make concerning vampire culture]
However, Sophia was unwilling to let go of her past life, and much too naive and sentimental in the eyes of her sire. One night shortly after the embrace, her sire brought her to her old home, where she killed her husband, Mike, in a frenzy. The couple's one year old son, Andrew, survived.
Determined not to give in to the beast like that again, Sophia left California determined to join the Ordo Dracul. Her sire was not pleased. Sophia doesn't know whether her sire has really let her go for good; she could conceivably still have an interest in Sophia.
So far, Sophia sees the vampiric condition as an unmitigated curse, and she is very resentful about it. This often makes her lash out in anger (hence the wrath). She does not want to give in to the urges of her vampiric nature (hence the temperance). In her travels, Sophia has attempted to experiment with resisting the urges of the beast (under safe conditions), but she keeps failing.
Sophia has just moved to the area. She is staying in an extremely run down long term hotel called Conrad's Hotel in a bad part of town. It suits her needs because her room has no windows, and you don't have to worry about housekeeping entering the room during the day. She pretends to have a night job. That is true for a number of the other clients.
She is still coming to terms with her new existence and has yet to find a purpose for her requiem. However, she is slowly learning to appreciate the power games of kindred society. She is still unaligned, but she wants to join the Ordo Dracul to gain insight into her condition and fight the beast, so she is searching for a mentor. However, she is also attracted to the philosophies of the Carthians, as she finds kindred society to be much too medieval in general [I realize that this part is unconventional for a ventrue, but she didn't choose her sire, and they are not on the best of terms. OK?]. This is what as drawn her to the city: the search for a mentor and the hope that life as a vampire will be more tolerable under a Carthian prince.
Appearance:
----------
Very short and skinny. Short black hair, ice-blue eyes. Tattoo of an overly cute armadillo on left forearm.
Specialties:
---------
Subterfuge (Detect lies)
Intimidate (Dominate)
Athletics (Throw)
Short term goals:
--------------
- Find a haven
- Establish a contact within the court
- Find an Ordo Dracul mentor
- Get some measure of control over the beast (coil of the beast) [This is what she would really want to get out of joining the Ordo Dracul. I decided it was more interesting to let her work for it]
- Make the prince notice her (in a positive way) |
