Additional Information
Hirov's early life was fairly simple. He was born in America to two Russian immigrants who managed to escape Russia before the onset of the Cold War. He was a fairly bright child who was fascinated by the Russian folktales his mother would tell him and the books contained within the neighborhoods gigantic library. He went all the way through high school and remained fascinated by the mystical, almost to the point of obsession.

He obtained a job working at the library which had been the source of so much fascination as a clerk and spent his free time alternating between reading and writing. Eventually, he finally felt his book was complete and entered the world of publishing.

The book was met with moderate success, enough to where he began to work only part time and spent more time with his favorite hobbies and soon, almost less than a year after his first, his second book was published. This one was met with a rousing success that enabled him to fully quit his job and focus on writing.

He went on to publish several more novels until he had a comfortable sum of money to sit on and eventually he became bored with simply sitting on it. He decided to take a break from writing and pursue a different occupation: Cryptids. The search for the creatures out of the legends of his childhood fascinated him and eventually he managed to come into contact with a society of cryptid hunters, The Hidden Society.

His first trip, to South America sealed his interest. There they tracked the large footprints of some sort of large ape, but it eluded them at every turn. Then when he was out filling up their canteens while the rest of the group was pitching the tent, he saw it. Large and vaguely humanoid, but he failed to get a clear glimpse of it as the beast saw him a moment before he saw it and immediately bellowed and charged. Hirov scrambled and tried to get back to the camp, but the beast was on him in seconds and would have torn him to pieces had one of the Societies members not heard the beast and was there in seconds, shotgun in hand. He clipped the beast on the shoulder before it had a chance to do more than scratch Hirov, and it fled into the forest, disappearing without a trace.

The experience changed any skepticism Hirov had left into certainty. There was no species of known ape that fit what little of it he had glimpsed and the fact that for the brief instant he had seen into it's eyes he had seen something more than animal intelligence and the desire to defend itself, it had wanted to murder him for sport, he was sure. Over the years he became fairly well known within the Society and traveled all over the world, writing books based on his experiences that sold well enough for him to almost constantly be on the move other than the few months he spent at home writing down and submitting his edited versions of his latest experience before heading on to the next.

He never again encountered a cryptid, although he found plenty of trouble in human form and picked up a few fighting skills along the way, although he usually preferred to talk his way out of any trouble that he found himself in, he never quite understood most people’s behavior though, his mind simply did not work the same as most.

He is currently on a trip to Boston to meet with one of the Society concerning some interesting new information that has come up.
